Epic Games released the game Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) for free on its virtual store this Thursday (14). The computer game can be downloaded until May 21st.
The game developer’s online store has a habit of offering promotions of this type, releasing famous games for free download and which, once installed, are available forever on the player’s machine.

After the announcement, the demand among internet users was so great that the Epic Games platform was offline for a few moments. “We are currently experiencing high traffic on the Epic Games Store,” the company posted on its Twitter account. “We know users may be encountering slow loading times, 500 errors, or issues with the platform right now.”

GTA V was released in 2013 and currently remains one of the company’s most popular games. The PC version is from 2015 and allowed players to make their own modifications to the game.

According to the Business Insider website, GTA V is one of the most purchased games during the period of social isolation. In eighth place, it is behind games like “Animal Crossing: New Horizons”, “NBA 2k20”, “Resident Evil 3” and “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare”.
